West County Office Complex Gets New Life as Biotech Center

From St. Louis Business Journal:  Biotech startup BacterioScan Inc. is leaving Cortex for a bigger space in West County.

BacterioScan is leasing about 20,000 square feet at the Pageview Business Center, a life sciences-branded office and lab park in Maryland Heights. The park, owned and developed by an affiliate of St. Louis-based DCM Group, is now 100 percent leased and include other later-stage biotech companies such as MOgene, Adarza Biosystems, Apertus Pharmaceuticals and Symbria. Mark Zvibleman of SVN Infinity Commercial Group represented BacterioScan in its lease.

BacterioScan, an in-vitro diagnostics firm that was founded in Israel before it moved to St. Louis in 2012, had been operating from CIC@CET and BioGenerator Labs, an 18,000-square-foot facility that offers lab and office space for portfolio and pre-incubator companies. The company is one of BioGenerator’s largest investments, though an exact amount was not disclosed.

“BacterioScan has achieved FDA clearance for the first of several globally-distributed infectious disease diagnostic products. And, with a growing staff of scientists and innovators, it is a noted milestone that BacterioScan is able to move out from the BioGenerator Labs that has served the company well and into new space that is needed to increase efficiency and production capabilities,” said Dan Broderick, vice president of BioGenerator and a member of BacterioScan’s board of directors.
