Town Hall Meeting Set to Discuss Housing Development Planned for Tower Tee

By on March 12, 2019

From St. Louis Post-Dispatch:  St. Louis County Council member Lisa Clancy has scheduled the first of a series of town hall meetings to discuss a developer’s plans to build homes at the former site of Tower Tee.

The meeting will be March 20 at 7 p.m. at the Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road.

A joint venture of McBride Homes and J.H. Berra Construction Co. closed in February on the landmark golf and batting cage complex, saying they would consider using part of the 28-acre property for a public park. A representative of McBride has said the firms would wait until after Clancy’s meetings to submit plans to the county.

The redevelopment would need the County Council to approve a zoning change from commercial to residential. The redevelopment of Tower Tee has drawn weekly protests at County Council members from Affton area residents.
