From St. Louis Business Journal:  Downtown innovation center T-REX has been awarded a $500,000 federal grant to develop a geospatial resource center.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration on Thursday announced the grant, saying it will go toward development of a “Locational Intelligence Resource Center.”

“We commend T-REX for championing innovation and entrepreneurship to spur the next generation of businesses and create high-skill, high-wage jobs in the St. Louis region,” Dennis Alvord, the department of commerce’s deputy assistant secretary for regional affairs, said in a statement. “This project will provide a critical niche industry with the support they need to grow and thrive.”

Creve Coeur-based Monsanto also recently announced it’s pledged a $500,000 grant to T-REX toward the creation of the geospatial resource center.
