St. Louis-based IWR North America, formerly IWR Building Systems, recently completed work on the high-profile Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. IWR-NA was brought on as a specialty contractor to perform restoration work associated with the exterior enclosure upgrades as part of the renovation. IWR-NA’s scope of work included upgrades to entry facades and canopies with modern materials, new acoustical cladding systems at the mechanical screen walls and installation of high-end panel systems in the entrance portals.

Under an expedited time frame that required 12-16 hour work days at times for a grand opening on Sept. 12, the pre-planning and hard work started long before the crew arrived on the jobsite. The multi-trade coordination efforts during pre-construction were crucial to successfully completing the project on time. During construction, IWR-NA succeeded in preserving and protecting the adjacent historical characteristics throughout the building.trump-intl-hotel-2

“As with every project, our team was dedicated to installing quality products consistent with the very high standards of property owners, especially this one,” said Mike Smalley, pre-construction manager for IWR North America.
