Stenger Signs Minority Inclusion Bill

From St. Louis Business Journal:  St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger has signed a bill mandating that certain percentages of county contracts go to minority- and women-owned firms.

Under the legislation, the county will require 24 percent minority-owned businesses and 9.5 percent women-owned businesses for construction, and 16 percent minority-owned businesses and 15 percent women-owned businesses for architecture and engineering projects.

Councilwoman Hazel Erby has long pushed the legislation.
