Shrewsbury/Eastbound I-44 Work To Be Complete By Mid-Summer

By on February 5, 2019

From Webster-Kirkwood Times:  MoDOT on Feb. 1 announced that work on the eastbound Interstate 44 bridge over the BNSF railroad near Shrewsbury is not expected to be completed until mid-summer.

In November, the department suspended construction on the eastbound bridge when cracks began to show on the completed westbound bridge.

Although the westbound bridge remains safe to use, crews are currently working on design plans to address westbound bridge deficiencies. The design work is expected to be completed and reviewed by the end of March.

Once the design work for the westbound bridge is complete, crews will then resume and complete construction of the eastbound bridge, which is expected to take until mid-summer, MoDOT officials said.
