Senior Living Facility Developments in Clayton

From STL News:  Schnuck’s was a once name that was recognizable through generations here in Clayton.  The former grocery store turned vacant lot on Hanley and Clayton, may soon see life again.

Minneapolis-based developer, Ryan Cos. plans to construct a 70,000 square foot senior living facility later this year.  The projected plan is estimated to cost $20 million and will be called Clarendale of Clayton.  The facility will offer services for independent living, assisted living, as well as memory care, and will also be operated by Life Care Services.

The 3.3-acre lot has been vacant since 2003 and many developers have been interested in the site, although nothing has come to fruition.  According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “In 2015, a developer out of suburban Nashville, Tenn. wanted to build a mixed-use development that included retail, offices and apartments.  At one point, there was a proposal for condo towers”.

Vice President of Real Estate Development for Ryan Cos., Dave Erickson, stated “I believe Ryan can deliver a building that will be high quality that they city of Clayton will be proud of”.  Erickson is confident that the senior care facility proposal will go through, as there is “a strong market for senior living care in Clayton”.
