Scott Brandt Promoted to Partner at Brown Smith Wallace

Scott D. Brandt, CPA, CCIFP, formerly a principal in the Audit Services practice at Brown Smith Wallace, has been promoted to partner at Brown Smith Wallace, effective January 1, 2019. Brandt will also continue to serve as the leader of the Construction Industry Group.

Brandt has a specialized focus in manufacturing and construction-related entities including multi-company consolidations that involve complex accounting and auditing issues. He has over 14 years of experience in public accounting. He recently participated in the Partnership Readiness Program at Brown Smith Wallace, which prepares selected principals to become the next generation of firm partners.

Brandt is responsible for various in-charge, oversight and management functions during accounting and audit engagements, including performing FAR Part 31 Overhead Rate Audits. His broad range of experience includes providing audit and other attest services in the construction, engineering, manufacturing and distribution industries, as well as an expertise working with employee benefit plans.

Brandt holds the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) certification. This designation demonstrates his commitment to excellence in construction industry financial management and dedication to continuing education and quality improvement. Currently, there are only about 900 active certificate holders nationwide with fewer than 20 in the state of Missouri. He is also currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Missouri Society of CPAs (MOCPA), The Surety Association of St. Louis, Association of General Contractors (AGC) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
