Lambert Renovation Project Wins Regional Project of the Year Award

From St. Louis Post Dispatch:  The multiyear renovation project at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport won the Engineering News-Record Midwest Best Project of the Year award for airport/transit.

Kwame Building Group provided program management for the $62 million renovation, the largest in Lambert’s history. Kwame oversaw and coordinated five design packages and 10 construction packages to upgrade the airport’s main terminal, concourses and baggage-claim areas.

Despite complications caused by a tornado that damaged the airport in 2011 and a new $30 million TSA baggage system, the project was completed months early and within budget. It also achieved Lambert’s goals to maximize diversity and opportunities for minority- and women-owned businesses.
