Housing Developer McCormack Baron Salazar Makes Leadership Changes

By on October 12, 2018

From St. Louis Business Journal:  McCormack Baron Salazar Inc., the St. Louis-based affordable and mixed income housing developer, has filled two key leadership posts.

The company hired Gary Buechler as chief operating officer to oversee all day-to-day operations, including project management and finance, design and construction, and business development strategy. He previously was president of The Michaels Development Co., a Marlton, New Jersey-based affordable housing developer, since early 2016.

While leading Michaels Development, Buechler increased revenue by 35 percent and reduced time and costs associated with new transaction closings, MBS officials said in a release. Prior to joining Michaels, Buecher had held key posts with Lendlease Americas and had been a partner in a private law firm, specializing in real estate transactions.

At MBS, Buechler succeeds current COO Michael Duffy, who is being promoted to chief investment officer of MBA Properties Inc., the holding company for MBS. Duffy will oversee cross-compay investor and financing relationships and underwriting of project financing.
