By on November 7, 2017

FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis) has added 48 monthly series from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Construction Spending release. The information is available in an interactive format which allows customization, exports in various formats, and notifications of updates.

These new series cover monthly percent changes in the dollar value of construction work done in the United States on new structures or improvements to existing structures for the private and public sectors.

The data can be further broken down into categories such as power, manufacturing, nonresidential, amusement and recreation, communication, education, religious, residential, and lodging. The data graphs can be edited and the data can be downloaded in Exel (data), CSV(data), Image (graph), PowerPoint (graph), or PDF (graph) formats.

Graphs created in the FRED data system can be saved. Links can also be generated to embed graphs in web pages. Email notifications for monthly updates can be created.
