BuildingPoint Mid-America Creates Scalable Virtual Project Management Team

By on March 31, 2016

For contractors, the good news about BIM and other aspects of virtual construction document management is the amount of data that’s available to them. Unfortunately, that’s the bad news as well. A contractor can win a project only to find its office buried in terabytes of data.

Only the largest companies have the luxury of construction technology staffs that can flex up or down in size with project demand. For smaller firms it is impractical as well as risky to try to augment their staffs for what might only be short period.

BuildingPoint Mid-America has created a “Virtual Design and Construction” (VDC) offering that is designed to fulfill that role, both for smaller firms companies with more robust project data teams who have short term specific needs.

The program is headed by Corey Bell, who has over 20 years of experience in construction ranging from working in the field as a carpenter and superintendent to roles in the office as a project manager and estimator for both large and mid-sized general contracting firms.

Bell has been a fixture in the St. Louis virtual design and construction realm for the past 11 years.  He has leveraged his passion for technology along with his construction experience to facilitate every aspect of BIM utilization on projects and help companies to develop their BIM departments.

He has been instructor of BIM practice classes for many organizations, including the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Program (CJAP).

BuildingPoint is a Trimble-supported network of select team members who have proven track records as supportive partners for the construction industry.  BuildingPoint Mid-America has been chosen by Trimble to support these customers in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
